Riding Policy

This experience is aimed at experienced to advanced riders only

This experience is aimed at experienced to advancced riders only. You need to feel confident and capable of riding at all paces, and controlling your horse. You will be riding around potentially dangerous wildlife species, and need to be able to be in control at all times.

If you are usually an English rider, you may need to practise Western riding before you arrive, but this is not essential as Lin will also help you with the transition.

Volunteers need to be riding fit, or have basic fitness levels. You may want to do some fitness training before your arrival so you do not end up saddle-sore!

We ask riders to please be as honest as possible about your experience level when booking. This is for your own safety and for the safety of the rest of the group. Riders needs to be able to mount from the ground

Guides reserve the right to not allow individuals to ride if they feel they are not experienced enough to safely go safari with potentially dangerous wildlife

Weight Limit: The weight limit for riding is 80kgs. This is for the welfare of the horses.

Riding Hats: Mandatory – volunteers/guests cannot ride without a riding hat. Lin does have hats that you can borrow but it is always best to bring your own.

You must be insured. Most insurance companies will only cover you when wearing a riding hat should an accident occur while you are riding. Please bring your own hard riding hat (Also supplied if need be), along with boots, gloves and chaps as these are not supplied.
